Sybase has a fabulous product in PowerBuilder. It is a shame that developers are under pressure to move away from it. Your note that there may not be enough PowerBuilder developers is a chicken and egg problem for Sybase.

EXIN presenteert vernieuwde op rolgebaseerde I-Tracks
UTRECHT, The Netherlands, November 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Twee weken geleden heeft EXIN tijdens een klantenbijeenkomst haar
vernieuwde I-Tracks concept gepresenteerd. Met het nieuwe I-Tracks geeft EXIN
gehoor aan de veranderingen in de markt en de behoefte aan rolgebaseerde
certificering.
Het vernieuwde I-Tracks programma is eenvoudiger van opzet en legt meer
de nadruk op het beheersbaar maken van de informatievoorziening, dan op de
details van de informatietechnologie. EXIN speelt hiermee in op de groeiende
behoefte aan opleidingen en certificeringen buiten de
automatiseringsafdelingen van bedrijven. EXIN beoogt met haar vernieuwde
I-Tracks IT professionals verder te laten groeien in hun functie en mensen de
kans te bieden om door werken en leren te combineren in en door te stromen.
Dit doet EXIN door hun competenties, zowel kennis als vaardigheden, te
toetsen.
I-Tracks op drie niveaus
Het vernieuwde I-Tracks programma bestaat uit drie delen: Foundation
serie, Professional serie en Expert serie. De Foundation Serie zorgt voor
verbreding van kennis en inzicht, de Professional serie bestaat uit
Rolgebaseerde certificaten die zorgen voor specialisering in een bepaalde
functie of rol, zoals voor de Functioneel Beheerder of de IT Project Manager.
Deze rolgebaseerde certificering maakt gebruik van het Europese e-Competence
Framework waarmee de competenties worden gedefinieerd die nodig zijn voor een
bepaalde rol. De Expert certificaten vormen het hoogste niveau van het
programma waar verbreding en verdieping gecombineerd wordt. Het Expert
niveau, zoals IT Service Management, biedt bijvoorbeeld een goede
voorbereiding om in te stromen in de hogere leergangen van een bachelor
studie.
Onafhankelijk
EXIN is een onafhankelijk exameninstituut dat wereldwijd professionals de
gelegenheid biedt certificaten te halen om te bewijzen dat ze weten waar ze
het over hebben en hun rol in een organisatie kunnen vervullen. Dit doet EXIN
met kwalificatieprogramma's zoals, zoals ITIL, IT Service Management volgens
ISO/IEC 20000, Informatiebeveiliging volgens ISO/IEC 27000 en I-Tracks. EXIN
werkt daarbij samen met partners zoals opleiders en uitgevers. Door de
accreditatie van opleiders biedt EXIN bovendien een kwaliteitskeurmerk voor
een goede voorbereiding op de examens.
Opleiders die door EXIN geaccrediteerd zijn worden door middel van
klankbordgroepen actief betrokken bij de totstandkoming van het vernieuwde
I-Tracks programma. Het nieuwe I-Tracks zal in 2010 gefaseerd geïmplementeerd
